At Deer Park Dental, Practice of Janice G. Scott DDS, our goal is to put our patients first and make your optimal oral health our top priority. What to expect during your first visit
Your first exam at Deer Park Dental will include a comprehensive evaluation of your present oral health along with digital x-rays and study models, as needed. Whether Doctor Janice G. Scott DDS or Dr. Christopher J. von Tersch DDS completes your initial evaluation, you can rest assured that you’ll leave with a complete picture of your dentistry and periodontal needs and a customized oral health plan for addressing them. Your personalized oral care plan will include your treatment options, the risks and benefits of each, and all available alternative treatments. We’ll discuss the financial implications of each option with you and work with you to ensure that you get the oral care you need as affordably as possible.
Your initial consultation with us will also be educational. We’ll arm you with information, show you how best to perform at-home oral hygiene, and give you other oral health care instructions and tools to begin practicing what you learn from us at home. The suggestions for oral care that we provide will be tailored to your personal needs. Preventing infection and caries (cavities) is always our top priority, but we’ll be happy to talk to you about any other concerns you may have and how addressing them fits into your personal oral health plan during your first visit to our dental office.

To ensure that we take care of you and every other patient with the highest level of service and professionalism, we have our staff undergo yearly training in infection control and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, as well as dental law.
